About The Position

The Coordinator is responsible for opening the Center and assisting in the care, education and development of infants and children, both in a group situation and on an individual basis. This position involves managing assistant teachers, including scheduling staffing, evaluating performance, approving time off requests, and making recommendations for corrective actions if needed. The Coordinator supports the lead and assistant teachers in implementing a developmentally appropriate program and provides orientation and training for new staff. They mentor and coach staff to ensure quality care of children and facilitate positive interactions among children based on developmentally appropriate practices. The Coordinator also assists in establishing policies and procedures that ensure the well-being of children, such as developmentally appropriate curriculum and positive behavior management plans. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with child/staff ratios and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the classrooms and work environment. Additionally, the Coordinator ensures parents are well informed about the program and provides a welcoming atmosphere for them. They assume administrative duties to ensure the Center functions efficiently and effectively, and maintain a level of professionalism appropriate to the field of early childhood education.
