Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving

About the position

As a Warehouse Supervisor at Simpson Strong-Tie, you will assist the Regional Warehouse Manager in overseeing the Shipping and Receiving departments. This hands-on role involves managing satellite employees, ensuring efficient and effective operations, and maintaining safety and quality standards in shipments. You will be responsible for leading, training, and motivating your team while also analyzing workflows and implementing improvements to meet customer and profitability targets.

Responsibilities

• Complete shipments using ERP system and/or tablet, ensuring packaging and quality standards are met.
• Lead, develop, motivate, train, and direct employees, fostering teamwork and safety standards.
• Review and edit employee timecards, monitor workflow processes, and analyze data for improvement opportunities.
• Help develop a continuous improvement culture and manage training programs.
• Manage warehouse layouts and facilitate clean environments, ensuring safety and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or technical school certificate in business preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse and logistics required.
• 1-3 years of experience managing others required.
• 1-3 years of experience mentoring and developing a team required.
• Experience in quantitative analysis and problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

• Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills appropriate for various audiences.
