The position involves supervising employees in the construction, operation, and maintenance of electric distribution and transmission systems. The role requires overseeing, planning, and scheduling new construction work, preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and training activities. It is essential to ensure that all construction and maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with established construction standards, approved policies, procedures, safety rules, and budget constraints. The supervisor may also interact with both internal and external customers to address problems and concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. In terms of responsibilities, the supervisor will plan and oversee the work of the Transmission departments, ensuring safe and efficient operation of daily field activities for both the company and various contractor construction crews. This includes resolving customer issues as needed and providing assistance to Technical Services on new construction and the rebuilding of existing plants. The supervisor will work closely with the Public Service Commission (PSC) and local government agencies to coordinate efforts effectively. The role also involves scheduling the work of line or street crews, assessing project scopes, assigning appropriate crews, and ensuring that all material needs are met. The supervisor will administer damage claims and billing, manage time sheets, store orders, job kitting, work order balancing, and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations. Additionally, the supervisor will oversee the construction office and support budget management, coordinate department activities with local and state highway officials, supervise emergency restoration efforts, and coordinate safety training and documentation. The supervisor may also be responsible for labor relations contract administration and conducting employee evaluations for the annual performance appraisal process.
