About The Position

The Supervisor, Technical Entertainment (High Risk) at Universal Orlando is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and operation of rigging and special effects equipment. This role ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations, manages a team of technicians, and coordinates the technical aspects of high-risk entertainment offerings. The position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to safety and quality assurance in all technical operations.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in the professional entertainment or theme park industry required.
• 3-5 years in a management or supervisory position preferred.
• Technical management experience in live performance, entertainment, and touring productions.
• Experience with scenic, props, rigging, and SPFX preferred.
• Valid FL Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in audio, lighting, A/V, and special effect installations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, maintenance, and operation of rigging and special effects equipment.
• Become the Competent Person for scaffold installation and safety operations.
• Order, receive, inventory, and transport special effects and pyrotechnic devices.
• Directly supervise, schedule, and evaluate technicians in the High-Risk discipline.
• Oversee maintenance plans, inventory control, and inspection calendars for high-risk equipment.
• Plan, purchase, execute, and ensure quality assurance for rigging/staging and SPFX operations.
• Communicate necessary information regarding high-risk operations to all affected parties.
• Monitor and enforce policies and procedures for safe operation of technical equipment.
• Ensure all Technical Entertainment employees attend mandatory training and encourage educational opportunities.
• Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
