About the position

The Supervisor Transportation role at Clean Earth involves overseeing the transportation department, managing both on-site and remote technicians. The position is crucial for ensuring efficient route scheduling, maintaining inventory supplies, and providing high standards of customer service. The supervisor acts as a liaison between customer service, operations, and support teams, while also being responsible for staff training, performance evaluations, and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the transportation department and supervise on-site and remote Technicians.
  • Act as the liaison between customer service, operations, and the support team.
  • Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure adequate inventories are always maintained.
  • Manage route scheduling to ensure all scheduled customers are serviced by the end of the day.
  • Redirect manpower and resources as required to service customers on routes with operational difficulties.
  • Manage the driver debrief process for every route and ensure documentation for every customer transaction.
  • Update route comments as required and maintain high customer service standards.
  • Manage open order reports to resolve service issues and customer interaction records.
  • Monitor operations and staff, recommending changes to optimize resource utilization.
  • Review payroll hours to ensure efficiency and necessity of overtime hours.
  • Select, train, and develop an effective and diverse workforce.
  • Establish performance standards and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Coach employees on career development and communicate departmental changes.
  • Conduct ride-alongs and spot checks to ensure safe and productive operations.
  • Perform pre-employment screening and new CSR orientation.
  • Complete daily yard walks and track DOT hours.
  • Administer company policies and ensure compliance and safety among employees.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings and oversee maintenance of Driver Qualification Files.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience driving with a CDL B license.
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience using integrated fleet, driver, and compliance management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Experience with JJ Keller software.
  • Experience in the hazardous waste industry.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
