About the position

The Supervisor, Transportation at Scooters Coffee is responsible for managing drivers and ensuring the achievement of specific goals and KPIs related to pick-up and delivery requirements, revenue maximization, driver productivity, and safety. This role involves coaching and leadership to enhance driver performance and retention while maintaining operational efficiency within the transportation and distribution sectors of the company.

Responsibilities

• Utilize coaching and leadership skills to manage drivers and achieve specific goals and KPIs.
• Review driver routing and check calls to determine driver location and estimated delivery times.
• Receive load assignments from customer service and ensure appropriateness of driver work assignments.
• Dispatch loads to drivers, providing necessary information and instructions.
• Call customers to obtain and provide information, scheduling loading/delivery appointments as needed.
• Notify Customer Service Department of issues/changes impacting customer expectations or load assignments.
• Promote safety throughout operations, ensuring compliance with drivers' hours of service.
• Focus on driver retention by monitoring performance and keeping drivers informed and motivated.
• Identify, track, and resolve performance issues through evaluations and meetings.
• Resolve driver conflicts and requests regarding home-time, pay, equipment, and load assignments.
• Manage driver off-time, PTO, available hours, and expenses.
• Coach and develop employees to achieve work objectives and improve performance.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in business management, transportation, supply chain management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in transportation, warehousing, and/or supply chain environment.
• 1-2 years of supervisory and leadership experience in transportation and distribution.
• Strong communication skills.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in systems including Word, Excel, Sage 100, UPS Worldship, Deposco, Samsara, and warehouse management software.
