About the position

The position oversees the daily functions of the Mercy Hospice Volunteer Program, coordinating all aspects of volunteer management including recruitment, training, and ongoing development. The role involves communication with hospice leadership and the interdisciplinary group to enhance volunteer utilization in alignment with Mercy's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily functions of the Mercy Hospice Volunteer Program.
• Coordinate the interviewing, orientation, assignment, and ongoing development of hospice volunteers.
• Develop and schedule events, training sessions, and meetings for volunteers.
• Innovate new ways to utilize volunteers within the Mercy Hospice program.
• Communicate with hospice leadership and the interdisciplinary group to share suggestions for volunteer use and solicit ideas for improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven superior customer service experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with Mercy Hospice Programs.
