About the position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse staff during the second shift. This role involves providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure efficient warehouse operations that align with Planning, Production, Sales, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing functions. The supervisor will also manage scheduling, workflow, and adherence to safety and compliance standards, while maintaining a harmonious work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Address the day-to-day functions of the warehouse staff on the shift.
  • Provide direction to the warehouse staff as they support various operations.
  • Supervise and schedule the daily activities of the warehouse staff.
  • Schedule work for special and periodic inventories.
  • Recommend and participate in counseling activities for staff.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  • Issue written and oral instructions to staff.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in writing departmental work practices and applicable SOPs.
  • Maintain harmony among warehouse staff and resolve grievances.
  • Perform the duties of the Warehouse Manager in their absence.
  • Ensure proper movement, placement, and storage of materials from receipt to shipment.
  • Examine the work of the warehouse staff for accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to inventory standards.
  • Liaison with internal and external customers regarding shipments.
  • Manage waste streams generated during production.
  • Review records for accuracy and compliance with procedures.
  • Assist with planning the layout of stockroom and warehouse areas.
  • Advise staff on care and preservation of items received and shipped.
  • Study records and recommend actions for non-usable or excess stock.
  • Maintain adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in training and retraining of warehouse staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 1-5 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of various programs.
  • Full professional proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Very high reasoning ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
