About the position

The position oversees daily operations related to receiving, distribution, inventory management, and warehouse functions within the Supply Chain Management department. The role involves managing staff, ensuring efficient task execution, and maintaining quality service to customers and vendors. The supervisor is responsible for guiding the team in various operational tasks, including inventory control and procurement support, while also presenting operational metrics and improvement initiatives to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervisory oversight and guidance to assigned staff, including staff selection and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Establishes work assignments to ensure task coverage in all operational areas.
  • Assures timely and accurate receipt of goods at receiving docks, including documentation in Infor.
  • Manages product overages and shortages, and discrepancies in deliveries.
  • Establishes and maintains optimal PAR location cycle processing, including bin labeling and staging of products.
  • Assures timely retrieval, filling, staging, and returning of Kanban bins, including labeling and quantity adjustments.
  • Assigns the filling of supply issue requisitions and stages filled orders for delivery.
  • Supports procurement of replenishment inventory stock and assists with inventory control.
  • Collects and reports operational metrics for efficient management of receiving and warehouse activities.
  • Maintains understanding of medical and non-medical products to interact effectively with staff and customers.
  • Responds to inquiries and emergent calls when the receiving dock or warehouse are not operational.
  • Presents best practice ideas to SCM Leadership and assists in implementing approved process changes.
  • Documents Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for warehouse tasks.
  • Interfaces with department leadership to present operational improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in warehousing, inventory control, and automated material handling.
  • Experience working with all levels within an organization.
  • Experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) or similar software.
  • Experience working with Materials Management System (MMS) such as Infor.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Supply Chain Management Certification preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred one (1) year of supervisory experience.
