About the position

The Supervisor, Warehouse position at Americold Logistics involves overseeing and coordinating warehouse activities for an assigned work team on a shift basis. The role focuses on ensuring efficient operations in receiving, warehousing, and shipping customer products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The supervisor will also be responsible for staff management, performance evaluations, and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the unloading of inbound shipments and the picking and staging of outbound shipments.
• Ensure accuracy and damage-free status of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Facilitate cross communication between shifts.
• Oversee the safe operation of materials handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring adherence to security policies.
• Investigate and report safety accidents and violations promptly.
• Conduct operations in compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Ensure proper food safety practices are upheld.
• Direct the assigned work team to meet operational objectives.
• Conduct shift meetings and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Plan work schedules and assign duties to staff based on workload.
• Prepare and maintain work records and reports.
• Collaborate with workers and managers to resolve work-related issues.
• Evaluate employee performance and conduct performance appraisals.
• Conduct staff meetings to communicate important information.
• Counsel employees on work-related and personal development matters.
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as promotions or disciplinary measures.
• Assess training needs and provide appropriate instruction.
• Resolve personnel problems or refer them to higher-level supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma; Associate's Degree preferred.
• 3+ years of supervisory or warehouse experience, or completion of Americold's internship program, or a bachelor's degree.
• Forklift certification is required.
