About the position

The Supervisor, Warehouse at Americold Logistics, LLC is responsible for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities of an assigned work team on a shift basis. This role involves directing associates in the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of customer products while ensuring adherence to service and cost objectives. The supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality within the warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the unloading of inbound shipments and the picking and staging of outbound shipments.
  • Ensure accuracy and damage-free inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Facilitate communication between shifts.
  • Oversee the safe operation of materials handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures, investigating accidents and violations promptly.
  • Ensure food safety practices are upheld.
  • Direct operations to meet prescribed objectives and conduct shift meetings.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Prepare and maintain work records and reports, including employee time and wages.
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to resolve work-related problems.
  • Evaluate employee performance and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Conduct staff meetings to relay information and address specific topics.
  • Counsel employees on work-related activities and career development.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as promotions or disciplinary measures.
  • Assess training needs and provide appropriate instruction.
  • Resolve personnel complaints or grievances, referring to higher-level supervisors when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or warehouse experience, or completion of Americold's internship program, or a bachelor's degree.
  • Maintain forklift certification.
