About the position

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department within a retail environment. The individual in this role will be expected to perform various job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned or necessary. The essential functions of this position require the individual to comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing the Open Door Policy, and applying these principles in executing business processes and practices. The role involves completing work assignments and priorities by leveraging policies, data, and resources while collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners. The individual will identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carry out tasks, communicate progress and information, and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities. Adaptability and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback are crucial aspects of this position. Supporting store operations is a key responsibility, which includes executing daily workloads and processes, modeling One Best Way (OBW) standards and procedures, participating in team meetings to understand daily and weekly objectives, and assisting team leads as needed. The individual will serve as the manager on duty in the absence of the team lead, demonstrating behaviors that help lead associates through change and providing feedback concerning team associate performance and business area issues. Customer service is a significant part of this role, requiring the individual to acknowledge customer needs, assist with purchasing decisions, locate merchandise, resolve customer issues, and promote products and services. The individual will operate equipment such as cash registers to process customer purchases and maintain a safe shopping environment. Additionally, the role involves receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers, managing inventory flow, and following company policies for utilizing equipment appropriately. The individual will also maintain the front-end service area, assist customers with transporting items, process merchandise returns, and encourage customers to use self-checkouts. The position requires exemplary actions and workload execution, including modeling and training OBW processes to team associates and providing on-the-job training in the work area. Leadership expectations include making effective choices using policies and procedures, planning and improving work, sharing information, getting results, and performing to ethical standards. The individual must demonstrate care and concern when serving customers, adapt to changing work demands, and follow proper procedures to prevent shrink and loss. Physical activities required for this position include moving, lifting, and carrying merchandise, as well as communicating effectively and creating documents or reports. The work environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures and slippery surfaces, requiring the individual to work varying shifts as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months retail experience.
  • Associates must complete all job-required trainings and assessments.
