About the position

HouseMart is a local family-owned business with a vision to become the best operating chain of independent craft and retail stores in the country. This position is responsible for assisting in all facets of the store's daily operations to increase sales and profit. The Supervisor will provide continuous coaching to all employees on proper selling techniques, inventory best practices, and product knowledge. The role requires overseeing daily store functions in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, maximizing productivity to achieve sales, and providing exceptional customer service while communicating expectations to staff. The Supervisor will ensure that all products and selling areas are properly received, stocked, and merchandised, motivating staff to promote team effort to achieve department and store goals. Additionally, the Supervisor will ensure the store operates in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, monitor and assist in attaining shrinkage goals within industry standards, and be responsible for store opening and closing functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store functions in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Maximize productivity to achieve sales.
• Provide exceptional customer service and communicate expectations to staff.
• Ensure that all products and selling areas are properly received, stocked, and merchandised.

• Ensure store is run in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures.

• Responsible for store opening and closing functions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of experience in retail and/or customer service oriented environment.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform under pressure and demonstrate effective decision-making.
• Advanced understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
• Availability to work flexible hours.
