About the position

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a terminal facility, ensuring the effective planning and direction of various support activities such as training, quality assurance, and traffic management. This role involves managing a highly technical workforce that provides air traffic control services and tactical support, impacting the safety and efficiency of aircraft movement and the aviation industry as a whole.

Responsibilities

• Directs a highly technical workforce providing air traffic control services and tactical support.
• Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building.
• Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective ATC service.
• Continuously reviews work processes to ensure results meet agency mission and customer needs.
• Plans work, sets priorities, and schedules tasks for subordinates.
• Evaluates work performance of subordinates and ensures equity in performance standards.
• Identifies and arranges for developmental training needs of subordinates.
• Makes decisions on work problems and resolves employee grievances.
• Communicates and reinforces diversity and EEO policies in all areas of responsibility.
• Participates in labor-management partnership processes.

Requirements

• Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year.
• Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year at an ATS facility.
• Must have held an MSS position for at least 1 year in an ATS facility.
• Must have held an MSS-2 or above position for a minimum of 1 year.
