About the position
The Supervisory Audiovisual Production Specialist (Senior Producer) at the National Gallery of Art is responsible for leading and managing the creation of digital, television, and film productions. This role involves scriptwriting, directing, filming, and editing projects, while also overseeing budgets, schedules, and logistics. The position aims to establish effective workflows for creative production and post-production, ensuring impactful outcomes aligned with the Gallery's strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Provide creative leadership and management on assigned filmed projects.
- Develop creative production and post-production strategies for projects.
- Lead the creative production and post-production strategies for video, TV, and film projects.
- Plan work, set priorities, and prepare schedules for project completion.
- Assign work based on priorities and employee capabilities.
- Develop performance standards and evaluate work performance of subordinates.
- Interview candidates and recommend appointments or promotions.
- Lead creative development and execution for multimedia content across various channels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external crews and production companies.
Requirements
- Must be a United States Citizen.
- At least one year of specialized experience leading an audiovisual production team for a museum or cultural institution at the GS-12 level (for GS-13) or GS-13 level (for GS-14).
- Knowledge of various production methods and techniques for creating films.
- Ability to supervise employees, including hiring and managing.
- Ability to manage all aspects of a program, including budget and schedules.
- Skill in communicating with leadership and stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced training in photography, radio or television production, or motion picture production.
- Experience in producing high-quality multimedia content.
