About the position

The position is for a supervisory auditor in a branch or resident office at a large defense contractor or a large suboffice. The auditor will be responsible for the supervision, conduct, and accomplishment of a segment of the audit program, leading a major segment of the total audit program plan. The role involves establishing annual goals that complement region and agency goals, reviewing audit programs and working papers, and ensuring the use of quantitative methods and computerized auditing techniques. The auditor will also maintain audit liaison with acquisition officials and provide counseling and advice to employees, including performance evaluations and training recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and conduct segments of the audit program.
  • Lead a major segment of the total audit program plan.
  • Establish annual goals complementary to region/agency goals.
  • Review audit programs, working papers, and draft audit reports.
  • Ensure appropriate auditing techniques are utilized.
  • Communicate DCAA audit services and maintain audit liaison.
  • Counsel and advise employees, evaluate performance, and recommend training.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Pass a drug test if given access to classified information.
  • Complete a personnel security investigation.
  • Meet the requirements of the DoD FM Certification Program.
  • Obtain required DAWIA Certification within specified grace period.
  • Degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a lead or senior auditor on an audit team.
  • Ability to independently perform complex audit assignments.
  • Experience in preparing comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with audit reporting and communication.
