About the position

The position is for a supervisory auditor in a branch or resident office at a large defense contractor or a large suboffice. The role involves leading a major segment of the audit program plan, supervising the conduct and accomplishment of audit assignments, and ensuring the use of quantitative methods and computerized auditing techniques. The auditor will also communicate DCAA audit services, maintain audit liaison with acquisition officials, and provide counseling and performance evaluations for employees.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the supervisory auditor responsible for the supervision, conduct, and accomplishment of a segment of the audit program.
  • Lead a major segment of the total audit program plan.
  • Establish annual goals complementary to region/agency goals and objectives.
  • Review audit programs, working papers, progress on the audit assignment, and draft audit reports.
  • Ensure that quantitative methods and computerized auditing techniques are utilized appropriately.
  • Communicate DCAA audit services and maintain audit liaison with acquisition officials.
  • Counsel and advise employees, evaluate performance, recommend and approve training and development, and initiate remedial action for performance or conduct deficiencies.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen as verified through E-Verify Program.
  • Must pass a drug test if given access to classified information.
  • Must undergo a personnel security investigation.
  • Must meet the requirements of the DoD FM Certification Program.
  • Must meet the requirements of the DAWIA Certification Program.
  • Basic requirement: Degree in accounting or a related field with 24 semester hours in accounting, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Specialized experience: One year at the GS-12 level or equivalent, including serving as lead auditor, performing complex audit assignments, and preparing audit reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Certification as a CPA or CIA.
