About the position

Serves as the Chief, Healthcare Technology Manager and has oversight of all Healthcare Technology Management. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until March 31, 2025 or until the position is filled.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full administrative, managerial and supervisory duties of the Medical Center's Healthcare Technology Management Department.
  • Assuring the continuous operation of essential patient services and rapid response to conditions that may interfere with such services.
  • Development and implementation of the Medical Center's Medical Equipment Management Plan.
  • Overall programmatic implementation of the Medical Device Protection Program (MDPP) within the purview of nationally mandated directives for information security.
  • Initiates, modifies, and sets policy, procedures, standards and goals.
  • Financial management of budget resources to support quality assurance and maintenance activities.
  • Conducts capital asset and infrastructure planning for medical equipment.
  • Analyzes organizational and operational problems and develops timely and economical solutions.
  • Conducts a medical equipment management program that meets current Joint Commission, NFPA and other pertinent regulatory requirements.
  • Assures that facility medical equipment inventory is available for patient care activities.
  • Manages a recall and safety alert program for medical devices.
  • Responsible for the full range of personnel actions and organization design proposals.
  • Sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • Serves as an advisor to senior clinical and leadership staff on medical technology.
  • Serves as an institutional expert who directly supports the most complex and specialized clinical technology.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Engineering or Certification as a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE).
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must be able to pass a urinalysis drug test.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

  • Experience in managing overall department resources, including finances, space, equipment, supplies, and staffing.
  • Ability to draft and/or recommend local policies and/or directives related to healthcare technology management.
  • Skill in interpersonal relationships in leading and dealing with employees, team leaders, and managers.
