About the position

The Supervisory Budget Analyst serves as the Chief of the Budget Execution Division (BED) within the Department of Defense, specifically in CECOM G8. This role involves supervising various budget execution functions across all funding types, providing guidance to subordinate branch chiefs, and ensuring effective execution of budgetary resources in support of the Command's programs and missions. The position requires expertise in programming and budget execution, as well as collaboration with leadership across units to optimize resource management and achieve mission outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the performance of budget execution functions for all funding types in the Command.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinate branch chiefs on budget execution guidance.
  • Coordinate Command-level staff for the execution of budgetary resources.
  • Provide Year of Execution data to support future-year programming activities.
  • Serve as an expert in programming and budget execution on Command-level Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Present recommendations to promote efficiency and balance in operating fund execution.
  • Collaborate with leadership of other units to coordinate work-related efforts.
  • Direct budget year execution and reprogramming actions to maximize program accomplishment.
  • Monitor and report on Command program budget execution and make recommendations for adjustments.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience in interpreting and providing budget execution guidance.
  • Experience analyzing budget execution and financial trends to advise senior leadership.
  • Leadership experience in resource management through subordinate supervisors or team leaders.
  • Experience coordinating with stakeholder groups to promote sound resource management practices.
