About the position

The Supervisory Budget Analyst position at the Department of the Treasury involves managing a team responsible for budget planning and execution. The role requires overseeing the work of subordinates, ensuring effective performance management, and implementing strategies to improve work processes. This position is critical in supporting the agency's financial objectives and requires strong leadership and technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Assign work to subordinates based on priorities and the capabilities of employees.
  • Evaluate work performance of subordinates and make recommendations for recognition or disciplinary action.
  • Provide advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.
  • Interview candidates for positions within the organization/unit and recommend appointments, promotions, or reassignments.
  • Resolve complaints from employees and refer group grievances as necessary.
  • Identify developmental and training needs of employees and arrange for necessary training.
  • Initiate ways to improve production, work processes, and the quality of work.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower level in the Federal service.
  • Demonstrated management/leadership experience applying management techniques and principles for program objectives.
  • Experience managing resources and providing support to managers and mentoring team members.
  • Experience applying regulations and official guidance relevant to budget and finance.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project/program management or as a technical advisor.
  • Knowledge of financial processes and systems.
