About the position

The Supervisory Budget Analyst position at the Department of the Treasury involves significant managerial responsibilities within the Chief Financial Officer Division. This role is designed for a Senior Manager who will exercise delegated authority to oversee the planning, directing, and execution of various programs and their segments. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, assigning, and clearing goals and objectives for subordinate managers and organizational units. This includes approving multi-year work plans and managing the overall work to enhance the achievement of established goals and objectives. The position also requires overseeing the revision of long-range plans and managing policy changes in response to appropriations or legislative changes. Additionally, the role involves managing organizational changes and exercising discretionary authority over budget allocations and distributions. The position is temporary, not to exceed one year, and is open to various federal employees, including those who are surplus or displaced. The selected candidate will be expected to meet specific qualifications, including specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 or GS-14 level, which encompasses supervisory or program management experience. The role requires a deep understanding of management techniques, budget and fiscal methods, and the ability to apply laws and regulations governing federal financial management. The position is also subject to a probationary period and requires the filing of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.

  • Knowledge of budget and fiscal methods used in establishing and maintaining an organization.
  • Experience working on major program segments and organizational structures.
