About the position

As a Supervisory Budget Analyst at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, you will serve as a Deputy Office Chief within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. This role involves providing administrative and management support to ensure the effective operation of the office, supervising personnel engaged in budget formulation and execution, and addressing critical budget issues. You will play a key role in managing agency-wide budget guidance and ensuring compliance with federal regulations while fostering a culture of engagement and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage implementation of agency-wide budget guidance governing the formulation and execution of budgets.
  • Recommend policies that impact program goals and national priorities.
  • Direct the overarching processes and procedures for day-to-day budget operations, ensuring compliance with Federal regulations.
  • Obtain resources and identify/support strategic objectives for the organization.
  • Define technical work requirements and milestones.
  • Evaluate organization and employee accomplishments; present and defend work to management and customers.
  • Serve as a senior expert and consultant to top agency management officials on critical budget issues.
  • Advise budget experts throughout the agency on applying or tailoring methods or procedures.
  • Define jobs, select employees, and assign work.
  • Recommend employee promotions and recognition, approve leave, and implement performance modifications.
  • Ensure opportunities for skill development are available and promote an inclusive work environment.
  • Perform a full range of supervisory duties including assigning and evaluating work, recommending personnel actions, and identifying training needs.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in overseeing or providing technical guidance on resources management activities.
  • Experience working directly with the Agency and Federal budget process, including Planning, Programming and Budget Execution (PPBE) process.
  • Experience leading a diverse multi-disciplinary team and/or projects.
