About the position

The Supervisory Budget Analyst position at the U.S. Department of Justice, specifically within the U.S. National Central Bureau of INTERPOL, is a senior role responsible for overseeing budget formulation, execution, and financial program management. The incumbent will present the budget to management, coordinate financial schedules, and provide administrative supervision to ensure effective budget execution and compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Presents the budget for the organization to management and budget officials.
  • Coordinates the preparation of obligation and expenditure schedules, special studies, and reports.
  • Makes recommendations that follow detailed analysis and consideration of program requirements.
  • Maintains current information on the status of all operations and maintenance funds.
  • Participates in the preparation of budget statements and justifications.
  • Distributes funds to operating services.
  • Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
  • Performs budget execution work involving the most difficult fund control activities.
  • Reviews, analyzes, revises, and recommends approval, disapproval, or modification of budget requests and justifications.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in Federal service performing budget execution work involving difficult fund control activities.
  • Experience overseeing the formulation of budget estimates and justifications.
  • Experience participating in the formulation and evaluation of program management and budget policies.
  • Experience providing direction and guidance to lower-level staff members.
