About the position

The Supervisory Chief of Staff position at the Department of Defense is a critical role within the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will serve as the Chief of Staff for the Strategic Integration Directorate, overseeing operations and providing strategic guidance to the directorate's staff. This position is responsible for integrating activities across various mission areas and ensuring effective resource management and coordination among subordinate departments. The role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to interact with senior military and civilian personnel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Chief of Staff for the Strategic Integration Directorate, exercising full authority on all issues pertaining to SI offices.
• Provide oversight, direction, and strategic guidance to the Directorate staff.
• Manage daily operations and direct the staff on behalf of the Director and Deputy Director of SI.
• Lead the development and implementation of goals and objectives to improve business processes for SI and the Agency.
• Develop policies and procedures to enhance coordination and integration among subordinate departments.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
• Supervising subordinate staff on a daily basis to complete long and short term tasks.
• Interacting frequently with GO/FO/SES level personnel to update, brief, or receive guidance.
• Managing and coordinating with multiple organizations with vastly different missions.
• Working knowledge of electronic tasking systems, DAI, and DTS.
• Experience assuming responsibilities of senior level supervisors.
