About the position

The Supervisory Community Planner/General Engineer/Architect/Civil Engineer/Industrial Engineer position at NAVFAC Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic involves leading planning teams to develop comprehensive land use and infrastructure strategies. The role requires providing technical expertise in facilities planning, ensuring cost-effective development of shore facilities, and collaborating with various subject matter experts to clarify infrastructure visions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning teams to develop long, mid, and short-range land use and infrastructure planning strategies.
  • Explain and defend specific planning criteria to users and technical experts.
  • Provide clear policy and guidance for the development of shore facilities.
  • Leverage in-house resources for land and facilities planning, acquisition, and environmental considerations.

Requirements

  • Current license as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Knowledge of community planning, architecture, and engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in reviewing technical documents related to planning, design, and construction of facilities.
  • Ability to develop plans, goals, and objectives for facility management projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in strategic planning and risk management.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance.
