About the position

The Supervisory Contract Specialist position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) involves planning, developing, and establishing procurement and contracting strategies for various acquisitions. The role requires providing expert advice to senior program personnel, developing innovative solutions to contractual challenges, and representing the Office Director in high-level meetings. The position also includes directing and supervising the work of subordinates in all aspects of contract management, from planning to closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and establish long and short-range procurement and contracting plans.
  • Provide expert advice to senior program personnel on procurement and contracting matters.
  • Develop innovative responses and procedures to overcome contractual problems.
  • Represent the Office Director in high-level meetings and negotiations with senior officials.
  • Direct and supervise the overall progression of all work assigned to subordinates.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • At least 4 years of experience in contracting or related positions.
  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent.
  • Experience in a leadership position in planning and executing contractual actions.
  • Experience in reviewing contractual actions and directing the work of other employees.
