About The Position

The Supervisory Contract Specialist will lead a team of Contract Specialists within the Great Lakes Region of the Public Buildings Service, focusing on acquisition management. This role involves overseeing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with GSA policies, and providing strategic guidance on complex contracts. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team while coordinating with various stakeholders to meet the agency's contracting needs.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service.
  • Completion of Training/Certification: FAC-C (Professional) or DoD Contracting Professional Certification.
  • Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct a team of subordinate contract specialists, ensuring compliance with GSA policies and standards.
  • Oversee all phases of procurement, including pre-award, award, contract administration, and termination.
  • Resolve problems and controversies presented by subordinates.
  • Coordinate operations with other GSA and external organizations involved in service delivery.
  • Assist in formulating long-range organizational plans and provide input on team operations for management reports.
  • Perform complex procurements and act as a senior Contract Officer with a permanent unlimited warrant.
  • Conduct full range of pre-award and post-award procurement functions.
