About the position

The Supervisory Credit Union Examiner position at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Western Region involves overseeing a team of credit union examiners, ensuring compliance with credit union laws and regulations, and conducting evaluations to maintain consistent application of policies and procedures. This role requires significant travel to various credit unions and participation in special assignments and training events.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of a group of geographically dispersed credit union examiners.
• Interpret and apply credit union laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures to specific issues.
• Review examination reports prepared by assigned staff for technical problem areas.
• Identify employee training needs and development and ensure that resources are made available for development and training needs.
• Conduct program evaluations to ensure consistent application of policy guidance, practices, procedures, and examination priorities.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-13 level in federal service, including conducting financial institution examinations and managing conflicting priorities.
• For CU-15 level, one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-14 level, including reviewing the quality of financial institution examinations and ensuring organizational work products are completed within established deadlines.
