About the position
The Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist at the Government Publishing Office (GPO) is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Distribution Division, ensuring efficient order fulfillment and resource allocation. This role involves strategic planning, monitoring service effectiveness, and liaising with external organizations to enhance client services. The position requires a blend of leadership, operational management, and customer service expertise to support the GPO's mission of providing innovative publishing and distribution services.
Responsibilities
- Allocates space, budget, and personnel resources within the division.
- Monitors measures of effectiveness for processing functions, ensuring timely processing of client service order transactions.
- Develops and implements long-range plans for the Distribution Division, focusing on optimal space utilization and efficiency in order processing.
- Performs liaison duties with outside organizations, both public and private.
- Attends and conducts formal and informal meetings with management and staff.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Specialized experience at the next lower grade level PG-12 or GS-12, including planning, directing, and coordinating daily operations of an order fulfillment and retail sales operation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Client Services Distribution Division operations, including online ordering and customer service principles.
- Experience in managing a Publication & Information Sales Distribution and supervising document control and policies.
