The Supervisory Environmental Protection Specialist position in Region 7 focuses on overseeing activities related to environmental justice, community engagement, and environmental review. This role involves planning, organizing, and managing a team while representing the agency in various functional areas. The position requires a strong background in environmental protection programs and leadership skills to effectively mentor and guide staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organizational unit.
• Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
• Represent the organizational unit and Agency with various functional area organizations.
• Spend less than 25% of work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.

Requirements

• Must have 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level.
• Experience providing leadership, oversight, or technical expertise for an environmental protection program.
• Ability to coach, mentor, or lead others.
• Skill in implementing rules and regulations for EPA Grants Administration.
• Ability to resolve programmatic grants management problems.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of subordinate organizational units.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
