About the position

The Supervisory Examiner position at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Dallas, TX, involves overseeing compliance examinations and evaluations of insured depository institutions. This role is critical in ensuring adherence to consumer protection laws and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). The position requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of examiners, provide guidance on technical matters, and maintain high-quality reporting standards. This is a temporary promotion for an initial six months, with the possibility of extension, but it cannot be made permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance examinations and CRA evaluations of insured depository institutions.
  • Provide guidance to examiners on policy, procedure, law, regulations, and examination techniques.
  • Ensure the quality of examination reports produced by the team.
  • Coordinate examinations and supervisory activities with Risk Management counterparts.
  • Meet with officials and boards of directors of insured depository institutions to discuss examination findings.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the work of a team of examiners as a first-line supervisor.
  • Assess work performance and provide ongoing feedback to employees.
  • Implement the FDIC's Performance Management Program for assigned employees.
  • Promote employee development and hold team briefings.
  • Assume responsibility for office activities in the absence of the Field Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and coordinating projects and teams.
  • Experience performing examinations and serving as an Examiner in Charge (EIC) of insured depository institutions.
  • Must be a Commissioned Compliance Examiner in the FDIC or a comparable organization.
  • Ability to manage and guide the technical work of others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial institution supervision or regulation.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations.
