About the position

The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist at Tumacacori National Historical Park is responsible for managing a multi-faceted organization within the Maintenance Division. This role involves overseeing subordinate staff, managing multi-year operational budgets for two park sites, and utilizing information technologies to ensure the stewardship of assets and facilities. The position requires project management, financial management, risk management, and personnel management to support the mission requirements of the parks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement projects and maintenance procedures to ensure facilities and infrastructure support mission requirements.
  • Coordinate project scopes, goals, and objectives; facilitate planning and design processes.
  • Develop spending plans and budget protocols; manage construction processes ensuring all project documentation is completed and archived.
  • Manage Facility Management Software Systems for cost-effective management of assets.
  • Perform and maintain asset inventories and condition assessments for developing deferred maintenance costs.
  • Develop and manage the facility management division's budget utilizing financial management software.
  • Implement a comprehensive safety and training program to eliminate risk behaviors and enforce regulatory policies.
  • Exercise full supervisory duties including recruitment, work plan execution, and personnel actions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • At least one year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Experience in managing planning, organizing, and directing complex maintenance operations.
  • Supervisory experience in facility operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to develop annual and multi-year budget plans.
  • Valid driver's license required for operating government vehicles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial management software and programs.
  • Knowledge of safety and risk management practices.
  • Experience in project management within a federal or public service context.
