About the position

The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Department Head at NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV China Lake. This position is responsible for ensuring that the organization provides effective facilities and safety products and services to support the Weapons Division's technical and program missions. The specialist will develop and maintain command awareness of facility policies, ensure adherence to personnel policies, and champion workforce diversity goals. Additionally, the role involves applying sound management principles to improve departmental programs and enabling the career development of subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Support the Department Head in providing beneficial facilities and safety products and services.
• Develop and maintain command awareness of facility policies.
• Ensure department-wide adherence to personnel policies.
• Champion the command's workforce diversity goals and initiatives.
• Apply management principles to improve the effectiveness of departmental programs.
• Enable career and professional development of subordinates and ensure appropriate training opportunities.

Requirements

• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13/14 or NM-04).
• Experience working across multi-disciplined teams and building relationships.
• Experience in project management, engineering processes, operations, and facility modernization.
• Ability to determine, evaluate, and analyze facility requirements for customers and missions.
• Knowledge of building components and various types of project construction.
