About the position

The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist at Biscayne National Park is responsible for managing facility operations and maintenance programs. This role involves developing management strategies, overseeing the maintenance division's budget, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The specialist will also recruit and recommend personnel, execute work plans, and manage facility management software systems to optimize asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the facility management expert and member of the park management team to develop and implement management strategies.
  • Manage Facility Management Software Systems for cost-effective management of assets.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct work to operate facilities and assets at their most effective level.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance division's budget using NPS financial management programs.
  • Implement environmental management systems to comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Recruit and recommend selection of employees.
  • Execute established work plans and establish work schedules and priorities.
  • Recommend promotions, reassignments, and other personnel actions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record.
  • Must complete a one-year probationary period if new to federal employment.
  • At least one year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing maintenance programs for various facilities.
  • Knowledge of construction and maintenance operations.
  • Ability to conduct surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations.
