About the position

The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist position at Lake Mead National Recreation Area involves overseeing facility management initiatives, ensuring safety and training programs are implemented, and managing a diverse maintenance program. The role requires a strong focus on project management, budget planning, and supervisory duties to support the operational goals of the National Park Service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a facility management expert in support of Lake Mead management initiatives.
  • Determine and recommend project scope, goals, and objectives.
  • Implement a safety and training program to eliminate at-risk behaviors and environments.
  • Exercise the full range of supervisory duties.
  • Prepare annual work budget plans for operations using NPS financial management programs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
  • Valid driver's license required for operating a government vehicle.
  • Must wear a uniform and comply with National Park Service uniform standards.
  • Ability to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift work.
  • Completion of a one-year probationary period for new employees or supervisors in the Federal government.
  • Ability to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month.
