About the position

The Supervisory Financial and Operational Risk Analyst position serves as an Associate Chief Risk Officer within the Agency's Office of the Chief Risk Officer. This managerial role is responsible for leading the Operational Risk Management (ORM) program, ensuring effective risk management practices are implemented across the agency. The position involves overseeing the assessment of the agency's internal control systems, promoting a risk-aware culture, and managing a team dedicated to these objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct ORM program activities, including day-to-day management of program staff.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with staff and management of the agency's divisions and offices as needed.
  • Consult with ORM staff and agency division and office staff to formulate and review task plans and deliverables, ensuring conformance with program and project task schedules.
  • Establish and maintain reports to show progress of projects to management, organize and assign responsibilities to subordinates, and oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Hold domain knowledge of internal control and operational risk management required to ensure quality control of all deliverables.
  • Carry out a full range of supervisory duties, such as performance management, training, timecards, and awards; keeping employees informed regarding the policies, procedures, and goals of the Commission as they relate to their work on assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SK-13 level, applying GAO's Green Book or COSO's Internal Control - Integrated Framework to develop or assess a system of internal control as either a manager, analyst, auditor, or consultant.
  • Providing guidance and support to an organization on its approach to assessing risk and managing its risk identification and assessment processes.
