About the position

The Supervisory Financial Manager (Comptroller) will oversee financial management programs within the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic. This role involves evaluating budget and accounting compliance, serving as the principal financial advisor to senior management, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and management of appropriated funds. The position also includes writing financial policies and managing the organization's fiscal program.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate budget, accounting, and financial management programs for compliance with financial policies and regulations.
• Serve as the principal financial advisor to the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and other senior managers.
• Analyze financial data to advise managers on costs, fiscal allocation, labor funds management, and budget preparation.
• Direct the administration of financial management systems to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial activities.
• Manage the organization's fiscal program to maintain compliance with accounting of appropriated funds.
• Write budget and financial policies to support the organization's programs and activities.

Requirements

• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial staff services.
• Ability to exercise control over the financial resources of the organization.
• Experience in coordinating and synthesizing financial and management data to interpret overall financial results.
• Experience in overseeing the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
