About the position

The Supervisory Force Analyst position at the GS-0301-15 level within the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is responsible for overseeing the review and analysis of defense and military strategy, campaign, and contingency planning for global dynamic force employment. The role involves significant independence in advising management officials and serving as a Subject Matter Expert in inter- and intra-agency working groups. The incumbent will lead a team of professional employees and coordinate efforts to resolve issues impacting defense strategies and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the review and analysis of defense and military strategy, campaign, and contingency planning for global dynamic force employment.
  • Serve as the single point of contact and an authoritative source for development of division advice/information on strategic planning and ongoing campaigns and operations.
  • Exercise significant independence and authority in dealing with officials of other organizations and advising management officials on force management, employment, and planning issues.
  • Lead or serve on inter- and intra-agency working groups as a dynamic force employment Subject Matter Expert.
  • Develop ways to resolve problems or cope with issues impacting defense and military strategy and strategic goals/objectives.
  • Plan, organize, support, and coordinate the work of team members and manage a staff of professional employees.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Experience managing the review and analysis of defense and military strategy, campaign, and contingency planning for global force employment.
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness/efficiency of programs/operations related to global force employment and integration.
  • Experience conducting and ensuring the development of recommendations for defense and military strategy and strategic goals/objectives.
  • Collaboration with force management representatives from outside organizations including Combatant Commands, Services, Combat Support Agencies, and Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD).
