About The Position

This position is located at the Blanchard Springs Caverns Recreation Area and Visitor Information Center, where the primary mission is to provide information and interpretive services to visitors regarding the natural and historic features of the area. The role involves conducting tours, assisting in training programs, and providing technical supervision to subordinate employees, ensuring a high-quality visitor experience.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
• Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
• Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
• Must possess or be able to obtain the appropriate driver's license to operate required equipment or vehicles.
• Must register with the DOT Clearinghouse as a driver and complete a Query Consent.
• Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

• Experience in planning and presenting guided tours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tours during periods of high visitor use or when regular guides are unavailable.
• Assist supervisor in planning, preparing, and presenting training programs for seasonal and regular guides.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead special tours for large groups or special interest groups.
• Provide information of a general and technical nature to visiting reporters or media personnel.
• Provide technical and administrative supervision to subordinate employees.
• Develop tour schedules for the guides in the caverns.
