About the position

The Supervisory Healthcare Engineer is responsible for ensuring a safe and reliable operating environment for patient care through effective management of maintenance and operations programs. This role involves overseeing engineering services, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements. The position requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders to meet project goals and maintain high standards in healthcare engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and reliable operating environments for patient care.
  • Manage the future operations and planning program for hospital renovations.
  • Provide authoritative advice on design and construction matters.
  • Collaborate with operations and program managers to meet project needs.
  • Oversee compliance with legislative and accrediting requirements for design and construction projects.
  • Develop policies and procedures to comply with conflicting requirements while minimizing impact on patient care.
  • Provide professional engineering direction and guidance to the Maintenance and Operations Section.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade in healthcare engineering.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques related to managing workload and performance.
  • Ability to manage department resources effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional registration or licensure as a Professional Engineer or Architect.
  • Experience in healthcare facility construction projects.
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery processes and systems.
