The Supervisory Housing Program Specialist (Program Director) position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is responsible for overseeing compliance with single-family housing statutory and regulatory requirements. The role involves providing technical guidance on housing programs, managing a team that supports homeowners and lenders, and ensuring effective loss mitigation and risk management strategies are in place. This position plays a crucial role in fulfilling HUD's mission to create sustainable communities and affordable housing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive responses to findings and recommendations regarding compliance with single family housing statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical advice, guidance, and interpretation of policies and procedures on single family housing programs for various stakeholders.
• Direct and supervise a staff assigned to a specific program area, providing technical support and policy clarifications to homeowners, lenders, and housing counseling agencies.
• Respond to inquiries and questions from program participants regarding default management, servicing, loss mitigation, and risk management.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
• One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level in a relevant field.
• Experience managing a loss mitigation and servicing division with a federal agency or financial institution.
• Knowledge of single family housing programs and default servicing operations.
• Ability to review and evaluate new or proposed policies and procedures related to single family housing.
