About the position

The Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification/Recruitment & Placement) position within the Department of Defense is responsible for overseeing and directing the work of Human Resources Specialists and Technicians. This role involves providing leadership, training, and guidance on federal civilian human resources policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing recruitment and placement processes. The position requires a strong understanding of HR practices and the ability to interpret and clarify policies for various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs the work of Human Resources Specialists and Technicians.
• Provides leadership and training to team members regarding federal civilian human resources processing policies.
• Identifies program issues involving organizational and administrative factors related to HR regulations.
• Interprets and clarifies federal civilian HR policies regarding staffing and classification.
• Provides comprehensive program oversight and advice on position classification and management.
• Reviews proposed federal civilian reorganization requests and develops concerns and recommendations.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service.
• Experience providing recruitment and placement advisory services regarding federal civilian HR policies.
• Experience leading a team of HR Specialists performing federal civilian HR functions.
• Knowledge of Human Resources Management principles and practices.
