About the position

The Supervisory Human Resources Specialist Deputy HCS position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development involves overseeing various human resources functions, including recruitment, staffing, classification, and position management. The role requires providing expert guidance to senior management on HR-related issues and ensuring effective operations within the human resources program segments. This position is critical for managing a team and advising on strategic HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the Directors of Recruitment, Staffing and Forecasting, Classification, and Reorganizations and Position Management and their subordinate employees.
  • Oversee operations and provide guidance on all functions within these human resources program segments.
  • Serve as the principal advisor to senior HCS management on major human resources issues and concerns.
  • Provide expert analysis, recommendations, and strategic program plans to the HCS management team.
  • Consult with key management officials and staff on HR-related issues.
  • Represent the Director of HCS in meetings and conferences on human resources matters.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, specifically in supervising the application of HR rules, regulations, and procedures related to Recruitment and Staffing, Position Management, or Classification.
  • Must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks if applicable.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
