About the position

The Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (HR Director) serves as the principal advisor to OIG senior executives on a wide range of human capital policies, programs, and initiatives. This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and consultation to a nationwide organization of approximately 500 employees, playing a critical role in achieving OIG's strategic goals through oversight and guidance on various HR programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to nationwide recruitment and placement programs to meet OIG's human capital needs.
  • Develops and operates a nationwide program of position management and classification to ensure clarity of duties and equity of position allocations.
  • Represents OIG in partnerships with external stakeholders such as OPM and internal stakeholders to contribute to government-wide initiatives.
  • Conducts independent analysis of controversial matters and provides expert advice to the Assistant Inspector General on complex issues.
  • Supports and evaluates a comprehensive program for performance management and disciplinary actions for OIG employees.
  • Directs subordinate staff, ensuring quality and timeliness of their work products.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent in HR disciplines such as recruitment, position management, classification, performance management, and workforce analysis.
  • Experience managing, directing, and evaluating the work of others.
  • Ability to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and interpret HR policies.
