About the position

The Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) at TSC Norfolk will oversee military HR functions, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures. This role involves advising employees on performance requirements, producing HR metrics, and coordinating personnel matters with other Transaction Service Centers. The position is permanent and offers opportunities for telework.

Responsibilities

• Define work standards and prepare/issue internal instructions, methods, and procedures.
• Advise employees on performance requirements and produce appraisal reports.
• Produce Military HR metrics to manage service quality and productivity analysis.
• Provide training and educational services for military personnel.
• Coordinate pay and personnel matters with other Transaction Service Centers (TSCs) customer commands.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
• Specialized experience must demonstrate utilizing automated systems for reviewing, validating, and processing military pay and personnel records.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

Nice-to-haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
• Experience in analyzing system reports and producing corrective actions.
• Experience providing interpretation of Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) and Department of Defense Financial Management Regulation (DOD FMR).
