About the position

The IT Operations Manager position within the USDA's Farm Production and Conservation Business Center is responsible for overseeing the management of personnel resources and providing programmatic advice to the Division Director. This role involves directing technical determinations, resolving complex IT issues, and ensuring the attainment of operational goals and objectives for the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive programmatic advice and assistance in managing personnel resources.
  • Advise the Division Director on the relationship of supervised functions to assigned programs.
  • Direct technical determinations to resolve issues at the lowest levels.
  • Ensure attainment of operational plans, goals, and objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service.
  • Experience managing operations or construction of AWS cloud native solutions.
  • Experience driving and maturing DevSecOps pipelines, automation, and culture within an organization.
  • Experience managing a team to resolve complex IT system problems.
  • Providing advisory services involving IT budget planning and execution.
