About the position

As a Supervisory Interdisciplinary (Architect or Engineer), you will serve as the Director within the Design and Construction Division, overseeing the development and execution of significant capital projects that have a broad impact. This role involves providing expertise and technical support for the planning, design, repair, and construction of Federal workspaces, ensuring effective implementation of capital development programs at the regional level.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of all capital development/design and construction programs and initiatives at the regional level.
  • Coordinate the work of the design and construction division with other activities in the region and the Southwest Regional Office.
  • Represent the Design and Construction Division in conferences and contacts with higher officials of other government agencies and local groups.
  • Coordinate technical elements of the program with related activities of other government/private agencies.
  • Participate in formulating long-range plans for Public Buildings Services (PBS).
  • Provide input and recommendations concerning project operations and management concerns.
  • Assess capital project delivery and recommend improvements for program performance.
  • Assist in resolving issues that threaten the successful delivery of capital projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure professional development of capital program project managers.
  • Develop authoritative papers and reports that state the agency's position and further the objectives of the design and construction program.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island).
  • Must meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date.
  • Must register with Selective Service if applicable.
  • Must undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 4 investigation level).
  • Must complete a financial disclosure report to verify no conflict of interest exists.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing large-scale capital projects totaling $100 million or more.
  • Knowledge of Federal procurement/contract regulations.
  • Ability to analyze and implement solutions to design and construction problems.
