About the position

The Supervisory IT Project Manager will oversee the Logistics Solutions Department at NAVSUP Business Systems Center, managing personnel across various IT disciplines. This role involves the administration of enterprise-level IT projects, ensuring teams are trained and best practices are followed, while coordinating with Department of Defense and Navy agencies to meet program goals. The position requires conducting assessments to understand costs, quality, risks, and customer support, and planning work for subordinates to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage personnel in various IT disciplines including software developers, systems analysts, and database administrators.
• Oversee the day-to-day administration of enterprise-level IT projects.
• Plan, design, and implement new and improved IT applications and systems.
• Ensure IT teams are adequately trained and best practices are followed.
• Coordinate with Department of Defense and Navy agencies to meet program goals.
• Conduct assessments and studies to understand costs, quality, risks, and customer support.
• Plan work for subordinates by setting short-term priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work.
• Represent the Command in high-level meetings, conferences, and seminars.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
• Expert knowledge of system software and system development life cycles.
• Experience in project management principles, methods, and practices.
• Skill in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in managing an IT workforce based on organizational goals and budget considerations.
• Ability to evaluate long-range plans, trends, developments, and proposals.
• Experience in monitoring duties for various IT programs such as Data Management and Information Security.
