About the position

The Supervisory IT Specialist (InfoSec/SysAdmin) is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data. This role involves planning, analyzing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing IT systems and services. The specialist will manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements while ensuring compliance with information security policies. Additionally, the position includes supervising subordinates, setting priorities, and preparing work schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data.
  • Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements.
  • Ensure the application of information security/information assurance policies.
  • Plan work for subordinates, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Assign work to subordinates based on priorities and capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain long-range hardware and software change plans.
  • Identify, track, and manage modifications to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and security of systems.
  • Provide training and implementation assistance to staff.
  • Manage the implementation and dissemination of technical and procedural standards.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • Must complete a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random testing.
  • Must qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band.

  • Experience in team development.

  • Experience in planning and managing IT installations.
