About the position

The Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC) will serve as the Branch Head for the Cyber Warfare Test and Evaluation Branch within the Information Warfare T&E Division at the Naval Test Wing Atlantic. This role involves directing and supervising a team of IT specialists and engineers, managing personnel and processes, and providing technical direction for Cyber Developmental, Test, and Evaluation efforts related to aircraft systems. The position requires a strong background in information systems security and the ability to lead and mentor a professional workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise a professional force of IT specialists, engineers, and scientists.
  • Manage personnel skills and processes within the branch.
  • Negotiate with team leads to assign technical personnel for specific projects.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance for Cyber Developmental, Test, and Evaluation efforts.
  • Interview candidates for positions within the unit/department.
  • Evaluate work performance of subordinates and recommend performance ratings.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized IT Specialist (INFOSEC) work experience equivalent to the NM-04 STRL Pay Band or GS-13/14 level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information systems security principles and standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer and information protection technologies and hardware/software products.
  • Experience in flight testing and evaluation for aircraft weapons systems.
  • Ability to provide guidance on building Cyber Security protections into acquisitions.
  • Experience in overseeing and assigning work assignments based on organizational priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position.
  • Credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for Cyber Workforce Developer and Manager.
